A very high quality classically-made wine from the New World, from the Shiraz grape variety. Aged in (partly American) oak, spicy, complex, lots of intensity and with a long life. More reserved in style than the modern varieties. The best quality examples come from Australia. Young: powerful black fruit, some wood influence. Ready to drink: prominent, intense, earthy. Mature: compact, complex, very earthy.
