A substantial (14%) and well-rounded Riesling from Austria. Intensely fruity, very pure and of all the Rieslings the one with relatively low acidity. Pleasant mineral finish. Can age well. In the Wachau region, the best quality bottles are designated as ‘Smaragd’ (Emerald). Young: supple, aromatic and accessible. Ready to drink: aromatic and rounded. Mature: tighter and more mineral.
